Paula Mrazek

Paula has been studying opera for the past three years with Elgin OPERA’s Training Ensemble.  Opera companies she has sung with include Elgin OPERA, Music By the Lake, Chicago Chamber Opera, Norris Chorale and DuPage Opera Theater.  She has performed the roles of Kate in Pirates of Penzance, dual roles of Kate Pinkerton and Mother in Madama Butterfly, Flora”in La Traviata, and covered the role of Clothilde Lombaste in The New Moon.  Opera chorus credits include Amahl and the Night Visitors, Carmen, Porgy and Bess and Die Fledermaus.  In addition to singing in mainstage productions, Paula loves singing in opera outreach programs, performing at Del Webb Huntley and St. Charles Library, with the opera excerpts group, Voce d’Amore.  She is a regular performer at Magdalena’s Music Festival, which incorporates a sophisticated piano-bar setting with performances of opera arias, Italian songs and Broadway tunes.  Paula studies voice with Solange Sior.  She lives in Cary, Illinois with her husband, Bruce, and children, Kristian and Julia.  She could not pursue this path of singing without the support of her family and parents.
